Fühlhebel-Schraublehre Nr. 40 SF. This indicating micrometer combines a graduated micrometer thimble with a mechanical pointer in a separate indicator window. An appealing collectible for enthusiasts of historic measuring instruments, precision mechanics, and horological technology.\n\nPRECISION DETAILS\n\nThe indicator is marked “1 Strich = 2µ,” meaning each scale division represents 2 micrometers. This describes the scale graduations, not the instrument’s current accuracy or calibration. The knurled thimble, metal measuring faces, and textured black finish give the instrument its distinctive technical appearance.\n\nThe seller estimates that the instrument dates from the 1950s–1960s. This dating has not been independently confirmed.\n\nWOODEN CASE\n\nSupplied in a black-painted wooden case described by the seller as original, with metal clasps. Inside the lid is a factory label featuring a technical drawing, the model designation, and the oval Carl Mahr Esslingen a.N. logo. The oval maker’s logo also appears on the outside of the case.\n\nCONDITION AND DETAILS\n\nVintage, used condition with visible signs of use and age on both the instrument and the case. The black finish has a pronounced crackled texture and localized wear. Please examine the photographs carefully for the finish, indicator window, and condition of the case.\n\nOperation and measuring accuracy have not been confirmed.
