The thermometer entry shows the year 1914. These are the dates recorded on the document; they do not independently establish when the instruments were manufactured.\n\nAn accompanying label reads “INSPECTIE AMSTERDAM INV. \u0026 ACC.” A further stamp identifies the Laboratory of the Ministry of Finance in Amsterdam and is dated February 4, 1970.\n\nAccording to the provenance information supplied by the seller, this set is associated with measuring the alcohol content of spirits for excise assessment.
