{"product_id":"vintage-messing-tafelthermometer-met-kantelbare-houder","title":"Vintage Brass Desk Thermometer with Tilting Stand\n","description":"A small instrument with a distinctly sculptural presence. This vintage desk thermometer combines the warm, golden glow of brass with a round, light-colored dial and an elegant tilting cradle on a circular pedestal base. A characterful accent for a desk, bookshelf, or collection of measuring instruments.\n\nGOLDEN DETAILS AND FRENCH LETTERING\n\nThe brass, described by the seller as cast and polished, catches the light along the rounded case, curved support, and pedestal base. The dial bears the French wording “THERMOMÈTRE °C.” Fine graduations, dark numerals, and decorative details give the instrument a classic, scholarly character.\n\nA KINETIC DESK OBJECT\n\nThe thermometer is mounted between two side pivots, allowing the dial to tilt within its curved support and be displayed at different angles. This mechanical detail gives it the appeal of a miniature kinetic desk sculpture: an engaging object for an executive desk, reading room, or thoughtfully curated interior.\n\nDETAILS AND CONDITION\n\n• Material: brass, as stated by the seller.\n• Dimensions: 8.5 × 7.5 × 4.5 cm.\n• Weight: 102 grams.\n• Dial with French lettering and a Celsius temperature scale.\n• Tilting cradle with a round pedestal base.\n• Vintage condition with visible signs of use and light surface scratches.
