A characterful aneroid desk barometer with a rounded brass case mounted on a marble base. Warm brass, pale marble, and an ornamental dial give this piece a distinctive presence on a desk, bookshelf, or display of historical measuring instruments.
Identified by the seller as an antique German example, the barometer features an attractive gold-tone rosette design with Jugendstil/Art Deco styling and German weather markings. An exact production date has not been established.
The instrument is unbranded. According to the seller, there are no Lufft, Schatz, or Lambrecht markings. It is therefore offered as a generic vintage barometer, without attribution to a particular manufacturer.
The brass case shows patina, discoloration, and visible surface wear. The dial and base also show signs of age and use. Please examine the photographs for the visible condition. Operation and measurement accuracy have not been confirmed.
