A distinctive vintage Fischer weather station from Drebach in the Erzgebirge region. Its gold-tone metal frame surrounds a dark barometer dial with an octagonal, gold-tone scale. A glass Celsius thermometer sits to the right. A characterful piece for a desk, bookshelf or collection of historical measuring instruments. The dial features the classic Fischer script logo and German weather terms, including “Sturm,” “Schön,” “Unfreundlicher” and “Freundlicher.” The back bears the Fischer factory mark, an S symbol, code 14/3474 and the inscriptions “Feingerätebau Fischer,” “Drebach Erzgeb.,” “Germany” and “ges. gesch.” According to the seller, this piece dates from the 1960s–1970s and was made in the former East Germany (GDR). Code 14/3474 is present on the back; its identification as a model number has not been independently confirmed.
