A compact vintage instrument with a distinctive black Bakelite housing, a round viewing window and an indicator needle. The molded POST logo, elongated ribs and visible screws give this piece a striking technical appearance. An interesting addition to a collection of historical telecommunications instruments or an industrial-style interior. According to the seller's information, this is a German Bundespost line tester, also known as a Linienprüfer or galvanometer. The back features molded markings and an orange-red ink mark. The seller identifies these as “Wk 956,” “NL 31” and “1961,” associating the instrument with West German postal and telecommunications history. The precise meaning of these codes, the manufacturer and the exact manufacturing or inspection date have not been independently established. “April 1961” is therefore not presented as a confirmed date.
