A special piece of German measuring technology: the Gossen UVA universal meter by P. Gossen & Co. GmbH of Erlangen. This early model, serial number 1248, comes in a dark bakelite case with a large, characterful analog scale. The rotary selector lets you choose the measuring range for current (amps) and voltage (volts), from the sensitive milliamp steps up to 6 amps and 600 volts.
What makes this piece extra appealing is that the original German-language Gebrauchsanleitung (instruction manual) is still included, complete with wiring diagrams and constant tables. The inside of the lid also carries the original measuring tables and connection diagrams. A complete set like this is rarely found by collectors of vintage measuring instruments.
According to the seller, the meter looks cosmetically neat; please see the photos for a good impression of its condition. The meter has not been tested for functionality and is offered as a collector's and display item.
