€400,00 EUR
A characterful wooden sorting box from Rudolf Flume, Berlin SW 19, containing glass tubes and small watch parts. The lid bears the diamond-shaped RF logo with a silhouette, while the paper index inside offers a glimpse into a watchmaker’s workshop. The original label reads “Kronen für Armbanduhren” (crowns for wristwatches), “elegante flache Form” (elegant flat shape), and assortment No. 36514. The printed text refers to silver-plated and 9-karat gold-plated crowns in the original assortment. This does not establish the material composition of the present contents. A GLIMPSE INTO THE WATCHMAKER’S WORKSHOP The index bears the name Rudolf Flume, “Das Haus des Uhrmachers,” Berlin SW 19. Handwritten brand names and caliber references make this an intriguing piece for collectors of watchmaking tools and historical movement parts. Entries include ETA, AS (A. Schild), PUW, Förster, and Felsa. The seller also identifies a Hanhart reference, although not every handwritten entry is clearly legible in the photographs. The seller describes the contents as winding stems and crowns and estimates the date as circa 1930–1950, spanning the Art Deco and early postwar periods. The date, exact parts identification, unused New Old Stock (NOS) condition, and compatibility with specific calibers have not been independently established. The label describes the original assortment; the present contents may differ. CONSTRUCTION AND CONDITION The wooden box has two rows of compartments containing glass tubes, cork stoppers, and surviving numbered paper labels, including 15 and 18. Loose metal parts are also visible in the photographs. The wood shows wear, discoloration, and signs of use. The paper index survives with age-related marks. Please examine all six photographs for the visible condition and contents. The assortment is offered as pictured; completeness, the number of parts, and functionality have not been checked.
