A beautiful relic of early electrical technology: the Metrawatt TEL-38 pocket voltmeter. This exceptionally compact instrument, attributed to Metrawatt A.G. of Nuremberg, Germany, features a classic pocket-watch-style design. Its estimated date is circa the 1930s–1940s, according to the supplied product information.
The gleaming chrome-plated housing contains a clearly readable analog dial with a 0–3 volt direct-current (DC) scale. At the bottom of the dial is a stylized logo, identified in the supplied information as Metrawatt’s early MR factory logo. The TEL-38 model designation appears on the front.
The meter features a built-in positive probe at the bottom and a flexible, cloth-covered cable with a negative connector. It comes in a black storage case described as original, with a deep green felt-/velvet-like lining and a 3V marking on the lid.
A museum-style display piece for collectors of historical radio technology, early electronics, and antique scientific instruments. The reflective metal housing has an attractive appearance, with visible signs of use consistent with age. Please examine the photographs for the cosmetic condition and included components. Operation and measurement accuracy have not been confirmed, and no calibration guarantee is provided.
